22 days to go!

by admin on Feb.11, 2010, under Uncategorized

Its snowing again lately but not as heavy as it was.

I still got 22 days before I land back home. But still got 14 days left to finish my work here at Lo***. All of a sudden, work is keep coming in to me like non-stop these days. At the same time, gotta finish the big report. I’ll be out of UK by the 25th this month and will stop by at Switzerland for the International Geneva Motorshow 2010, not for holidays, gotta do my final work overthere just before I return home early March. I just can’t be bothered of anything else these days apart from finishing my work.

And by the time I come back, I wont keep myself busy with work too much, Ive got to occupy myself with Didie, car(s) and probably little bit of hobby I suppose.

When I think back about the first day I came, kinda sad that I’ll be leaving this place and friends over here.  But glad at the same time.

And this morning, I just decline a trip to Korea (I haven’t been to Korea before). They need to do some testings and require somebody to look after for a week or so. It was the first time I declined a trip. Sebelum ni semua offer aku belasah jee. I’d rather be home than anywhere else, at least for this year ;) dah 2 tahun aku tak sambut Hari Raya kat M’sia…

As for r/c in March 2010, planning to go Singapore for the r/c drift challenge. Gotta do a major service on my chassis, battery replacement, bearing replacement, tires replacement and practice/setup sessions. Since I’m not entering the D1RC UK anymore, its time for me to upgrade my motor (stuck using an old stock 10.5t brushless motor for a while).  And of course a new Falken bodyshell as always!!!

4 weeks to go & counting

by admin on Feb.07, 2010, under Uncategorized

I haven’t been updating my blog for a while just because I don’t have the mood. Its this rush feeling I’m having, returning back to KL. I miss Didie so much that I can’t do anything right these days.

I’ve shipped all my rc stuff back home. For D1-10rc, I’ve got  a big plan coming into your way once I’m back. Will reveal soon.

Right now I’ve got one 1 big report to conclude my work here and lots of other minor stuffs to complete.

I can imagine myself lepak-ing at mamak in 4 weeks…

Missing her…

by admin on Jan.17, 2010, under Uncategorized

Didie left UK to Malaysia. Its really hard to let her go (even for a little while). I dont want her to go. I thought I’m gonna be ok but I was wrong. I miss her so much… no words could explain.

Unfortunately I’ve gotta stay and finish up some work, and definitely going back next month. I just wanna go back home to Didie.

Finally get to use this… thing.

by admin on Jan.14, 2010, under Uncategorized

I don’t know whether this happens to anyone; remember when your lecturer forcing you to digest some formulas or making a joke out of the formula just to make sure you remember it until you die. Apparently I forgot and please not my fault! Well for the past two weeks I’ve been wondering whats wrong with my p-v diagram. And finally I did when through my lecture notes (2002)  just to recap back and found this wonderful formula (i’m being sarcastic) which I have to re-calculate all my logged figure (about 16,560 times). Thanks to whoever invented Microsoft Excel (Bill Gates is it? or some IT guy from India?) Who cares, as long as got my p-v diagram right. I think…

Not so wonderful.

It does look weird.

Don’t cha worry if you don’t understand, neither do I :) which clearly proofs that we are normal human-being. Its just that I’m bored in the office and need to do something…

Lotus Sports Exige 300RR

by admin on Jan.05, 2010, under Uncategorized

Been looking for this model for years, bringing back my memories 2004-2007. Kinda nice to be in the champion team PROTON R3, won Merdeka Millennium Endurance race twice in a row. Its really sweet to work late all night sweating on this bloody beast. I was heavily involved with the MoTeC ecu data management/intepreter on the 3.0liter V6 engine and managing the whole R3 crews (miss ya guys a lot!) Well life goes on, at least… been there, done that…

History of Rotary 12A Engine

by admin on Dec.29, 2009, under Uncategorized

Did some browsing (trying to convince myself) & thought I share something…

The 12A series motor was in production for about 15 years, from 1970 through 1985.  During 1974 the 12A became one of the first engines outside the US or Europe to compete and finish in the famous 24 hours of Le Mans The 12A is considered a “bored-out” version of the previous 10A engine.  Although the diameter of the rotors stayed the same, the depth was increased by 10mm (0.4 in) to 70 mm (2.8 in).  Each rotor housing had a displacement of 573 cc, combined the engine had a total of 1146 cc.

During the production of the 12A engine they started using a new method of hardening the rotor housings.  In 1974 the Sheet-metal Insert Process (SIP) would use a sheet of steel similar to a piston engine’s cylinder liner with a chrome plated surface.  They also changed the side housing coating which eliminated the problematic sprayed metal that was used previously.

With the use of the new “REST” process, they were able to create a significantly strong housing.  This would make it possible to start using conventional cast iron instead of the old carbon seals.  The earlier 12A motors featured a thermal reactor, which were similar to the 0866 10A.  Some used an exhaust port insert which reduced exhaust noise.

The fastest 12A motor produced was the turbocharged and fuel injected model.  This was used in the Japan-spec Mazda Luce, Cosmo and the RX-7. Luce, RX-7, and the Cosmo.  This engine showcased a “semi-direct injection” into both rotors at once, this technique turned out to be more successful than it appeared.  They added a passive knock sensor to eliminate engine detonation, and some later models included a specially designed “impact turbo,” which was tweaked to give the rotary engine a unique exhaust sound.  This motor produced 165 hp (123 kW) at 6000 RPM and 186 Nm (137 ft/lbf) at 4000 RPM.

Its snow time

by admin on Dec.20, 2009, under Uncategorized

Its snowing at Norwich, boleh tahan jugak lebat. Its fun to enjoy snow with Didie (before this I enjoyed snow sorang-sorang je). Come to think of it kan, last time I had snow was 7-8 years ago while I was still studying in UK. I was alone that time but this time its totally different just because I have my Didie with me. Nothing better in this world to spend quality time with your love ones, nothing can ever ever ever beat that. My family has and will always be my 1st priority than any other things in this whole wide world…

Anyway we build a snowman! Its was cold (-3degC) tapi dah soooo excited sampai lupa sejuk hahahaha! Syok sangat!!!

by admin on Dec.19, 2009, under Uncategorized

Office dah kosong, mat salleh balik kampung cuti Xmas. And most of my colleagues (including Farraen) are going back next week. So tinggal lah me & another colleague of mine Faizal at the office until next year. The office will never be the same again, sunyi. Hari ni kita orang bawak makanan and makan ramai-ramai dalam office.
